Edward Zurad, MD

Edward Zurad, MD

Dr. Zurad is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, board certified in family practice and has certifications in geriatric medicine and gastrointestinal endoscopy. Dr. Zurad is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His research interests include GERD and gastrointestinal endoscopy, and he has written extensively on these topics. Dr. Zurad has been recognized by his peers for his work in this area and holds the following distinctions:

  • Fellow, American Academy of Family Physicians
  • Master, American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine
  • 2002 Pennsylvania Family Physician of the Year
  • 2003 Rural Health Leader of the Year
A. Mark Fendrick, MD

A. Mark Fendrick, MD

A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Fendrick is a professor of Health Management and Policy in the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan Health System where he directs the Health Services Research Core Laboratory and is co-director of the Consortium for Health Outcomes, Innovation, and Cost Effectiveness Studies (CHOICES). His research focuses on the clinical and economic assessment of medical interventions and he has authored over 150 articles and book chapters on this topic.

Margaret Heitkemper, RN, PhD, FAAN

Margaret Heitkemper, RN, PhD, FAAN

Dr. Heitkemper received her BSN from Seattle University, her RN from the University of Washington and her doctorate from the University of Illinois at the Medical Center. She is professor and chairperson of the Department of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Systems, Adjunct Profession, Division of Gastroenterology and the School of Medicine at the University of Washington. Dr. Heitkemper directs the NIH-NINR funded Center for Women’s Health Research at the University of Washington. Her research interest is in women’s health, stress, and gastrointestinal function. She has authored two nursing textbooks and 90 scientific papers.
